Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to secure peace deal before winter

United States President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a peace agreement prior to the onset of winter. Speaking after a telephone conversation with Putin, Trump expressed confidence that the Russian leader seeks a resolution, adding that an agreement between both sides would be beneficial.

Zelensky described his subsequent meeting with Trump as "positive and productive," confirming that both Kyiv and Washington share the goal of ending the conflict before winter. Despite the mutual public emphasis on concluding hostilities rapidly, neither government has outlined concrete terms or detailed frameworks for potential negotiations.
