US President Donald Trump threatened military action against Oman over Strait of Hormuz negotiations, as Israel backed renewed economic pressure on Iran.

US President Donald Trump warned Oman against interfering with negotiations over the Strait of Hormuz, stating in a Fox News interview that the US would bomb the American ally if it "gets in the way." Trump also called on Tehran to "put up the white flag of surrender" and claimed direct contact with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The IRGC subsequently denied participating in direct talks. Trump's comments followed announcements from Iranian officials that Tehran and Muscat were finalizing an agreement on commercial passage through the vital waterway.

In response to Washington's intensified economic measures, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the pressure campaign, asserting that diplomatic agreements with Iranian leadership were impossible. Iranian officials maintained that American economic pressure would fail.
