US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer defended new tariffs against 60 partners as the White House petitioned the Supreme Court over mail-in voting.

The United States administration under President Donald Trump has implemented new tariffs targeting 60 trading partners, including the European Union, following the expiration of previous tariffs. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer defended the measures, stating they are unlikely to produce negative economic impacts.

Simultaneously, the administration petitioned the US Supreme Court on Monday to authorize an executive decree aimed at restricting mail-in voting rules across 23 states ahead of the upcoming November midterm elections. The legal filing represents a further push by the White House to overhaul voting regulations at the state level.
