A Spanish aerospace engineer has switched careers to develop 3D-printed meat products at a foodtech startup in Navarre.

Former aerospace engineer Iñigo Larrea has transitioned from programming aircraft software at a multinational corporation to developing 3D-printed food technology at a startup based in Navarre, Spain. Larrea joined the venture to focus on creating alternative food products, including 3D-printed steaks and chicken bacon, using advanced additive manufacturing techniques. Despite initial skepticism from colleagues and acquaintances regarding the viability of printed meat, the company aims to apply engineering principles to the food technology sector, developing novel methods to replicate traditional meat textures and structures.
