Russian strikes kill eight across Ukraine amid reported advances in Donetsk

Russian aerial and artillery bombardments across multiple Ukrainian regions have resulted in at least eight deaths and over 60 injuries over a 24-hour span.

Local authorities reported that approximately 180 drones targeted civilian areas, including Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, nearly 60 attacks across five districts caused five deaths and left 16 people injured, with casualties reported in Kamianske and Pavlohrad. Additionally, a drone strike hit a petrol station near Kryvyi Rih, killing three civilians, including an eight-year-old child.

Concurrently, front-line fighting escalated in eastern Ukraine. The Russian Defence Ministry claimed its forces seized the settlements of Toretsk and Vasyutinske in the Donetsk region, while Ukrainian military officials reported ongoing intense combat along the contact lines.
