Russian forces launched fresh drone attacks on Kyiv while Brussels warned Moscow following suspect identifications in a Leipzig plot.

Russian forces executed additional drone strikes on Kyiv, injuring at least one person and damaging infrastructure following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to the United Nations General Assembly. Russian defense officials confirmed a dedicated campaign targeting Ukraine's energy network. In response, Ukrainian long-range strikes against Russian oil facilities have disrupted local fuel supplies, forcing Moscow to import petrol.

Concurrently, European security concerns escalated after German investigators identified two suspects linked to Moscow over an explosive drone plot in Leipzig. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned foreign threats, stating that the European Union "will not tolerate attacks on EU soil" and remains prepared to respond.
