Romanian interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan rejected resignation calls, warning against political instability ahead of a Fitch credit rating decision.
Romanian interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan rejected calls from Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader Sorin Grindeanu to resign, calling such a step "irresponsible" while no fully empowered government exists.
Speaking on Digi24, Bolojan addressed growing political friction and upcoming economic challenges, including a pending credit rating evaluation by Fitch. He blamed recent actions by the PSD for causing political instability that threatens the country's economic standing. Bolojan also dismissed reports of a rift with President Nicușor Dan regarding delays in designating a new prime minister, emphasizing their distinct constitutional roles and institutional cooperation. Additionally, he criticized former PSD Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete over ongoing healthcare strikes, asserting that the protests were driven by misinformation.
