Romania signed a deal for 12 Airbus H225M helicopters using EU SAFE funds, while Czechia considers a second round.
Romania has signed a contract to acquire 12 Airbus H225M multirole military helicopters aimed at modernizing its armed forces. The procurement is funded through the European Union's Security Action for Europe (SAFE) initiative and will allow Romania to replace its aging fleet of Puma helicopters.
The Czech Republic has also utilized funding from the same EU framework for its own defense modernization projects. Following the initial allocation, Prague is currently evaluating whether to apply for additional support in an upcoming second funding round.
