Romania exported up to 3,135 MW of electricity to Hungary during peak solar production hours, nearing maximum interconnection capacity between the two nations.

Romania reached near-maximum interconnector capacity on its power grid with Hungary during peak solar hours, exporting up to 3,135 MW of electricity. The high export volume was driven by surging domestic photovoltaic generation, effectively sending all solar power produced internally during peak solar intensity to the neighboring market.

Data from the OPCOM energy exchange showed exports remaining around 3,000 MW during midday. Strong demand in Hungary was primarily driven by cheap Romanian solar prices, absorbing almost the full transmission capability between the two nations' energy networks.
