All nine individuals on board a private Learjet 60 died when the aircraft crashed in a residential neighborhood in Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday. According to federal aviation officials, the plane was en route from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it rapidly descended and burst into a fireball upon impact near a heavily traveled road.
The crash occurred approximately eleven kilometers from U.S. President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed the fatalities in a statement on social media, describing the event as a "terrible tragedy."
