Nine dead after private jet crashes in Florida
Nine people died after a private jet crashed in a residential area in Palm Beach, Florida, while en route to the Bahamas.
All nine people aboard a private Learjet 60 were killed when the aircraft crashed near a busy road in Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday. The plane was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it rapidly descended into a residential neighborhood and exploded into a fireball upon impact, meters from passing traffic.
The crash site occurred approximately eleven kilometers from U.S. President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate. Video footage captured the sudden descent and subsequent explosion.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed the fatalities, calling the crash a "terrible tragedy." Federal aviation authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
