Moldovan PM Vasile Tofan reaffirmed EU accession as the country's primary goal while announcing gas subsidy adjustments and platform labor regulations aligned with EU standards.

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan outlined Moldova's policy priorities, reiterating that European Union accession remains the nation's primary strategy. Addressing discussions on potential unification with Romania, Tofan stressed that such a decision could only be made through citizen participation in both countries.

Concurrently, the government is drafting tax reforms to adjust natural gas subsidies, aiming to ensure high-income households with large properties do not benefit disproportionately from reduced rates. In line with EU standards, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection also announced plans to regulate digital platform work, inviting public feedback through August 2026.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri criticized Transnistrian representatives for declining formal talks in Chisinau while continuing to visit the right bank for leisure and shopping.
