Latvia's pro-European ruling party leads parliamentary election exit polls

Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs' United List leads parliamentary exit polls with 35.6% of the vote, though a new coalition will be required.
Latvia’s incumbent Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs and his pro-European United List party took a decisive lead in Saturday’s parliamentary election, according to initial exit polls. Projections released by public broadcaster LSM showed the center-right alliance securing approximately 35.6 percent of the vote.
Kulbergs’ platform centered on expanding military spending, maintaining strong support for Ukraine, and tackling rising living costs. Despite the United List’s strong performance, existing coalition partners experienced setbacks, making a continuation of the current government unlikely. As a result, Kulbergs will probably need to negotiate with new political partners to form a ruling majority.
Responding to the preliminary figures, Kulbergs remarked that "it is higher than expected" as official vote counting got underway.
