Russian strikes hit Kyiv overnight following Zelensky's UN address, while the EU issued warnings over a drone plot in Germany linked to Moscow.

Russian drone strikes hit Kyiv overnight, injuring at least one person following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address at the United Nations General Assembly. Russian defense officials confirmed a broad targeting campaign directed at Ukraine's energy infrastructure ahead of winter. In turn, Ukrainian forces stepped up deep strikes against Russian oil facilities and refineries, inducing domestic fuel shortages in Russia.

Simultaneously, European authorities flagged heightened security risks after German police in Leipzig identified two suspects linked to Moscow involved in a scheme using explosive drones. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a firm warning, declaring, "we do not tolerate attacks on EU soil, ready to respond."
