Kyiv targeted in fresh drone attacks as EU warns Moscow over security threats

Russian drone strikes hit Kyiv after Zelensky's UN speech, while the EU warns Moscow over security incidents in Germany.
Russian forces launched additional overnight drone strikes against Kyiv, injuring a woman, following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address at the UN General Assembly. Moscow subsequently announced a dedicated military effort aimed at destroying Ukraine's energy network, while Ukrainian long-range strikes targeted Russian oil refineries, forcing Moscow to import fuel.
Meanwhile, German authorities identified two suspects linked to Moscow over explosive drone incidents in Leipzig. In response to the growing security concerns on European territory, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared, "We will not tolerate attacks on EU soil," warning that the bloc remains prepared to address external threats.
