Kyiv targeted by Russian drones as EU warns Moscow over Leipzig plot

Russian forces struck Kyiv with drones while EU officials issued warnings following a Moscow-linked sabotage plot in Leipzig, Germany.
Russian forces launched a fresh wave of drone attacks against Kyiv, injuring at least one person following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's speech at the UN General Assembly. Moscow's defense ministry confirmed an intensified campaign specifically aimed at Ukraine's energy infrastructure, while Ukrainian long-range strikes on Russian oil refineries have forced Moscow to import fuel.
Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the EU "will not tolerate attacks on EU soil" after German authorities identified two Moscow-linked suspects in an explosive drone plot in Leipzig. European leadership reiterated its readiness to respond to hybrid threats and sabotage within member states.
