Japan and the US are reportedly planning joint foreign exchange measures to stabilize the weakening yen.
Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama is expected to announce joint efforts between Tokyo and Washington to counter the persistent depreciation of the yen, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The announcement, which could come as early as Monday, indicates potential bilateral strategy or aligned foreign exchange market measures aimed at stabilizing the Japanese currency. The yen has faced ongoing pressure, largely driven by monetary policy differentials between the US Federal Reserve and the Bank of Japan.
