Israel communicates security concerns over Trump's Gaza framework, while coalition partners push settlement plans, complicating peace negotiations.

Israel has officially conveyed "serious security concerns" to the United States regarding President Donald Trump's proposed Gaza peace framework. Although Washington previously stated that Israeli leadership supported the deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refrained from a public endorsement.

Compounding diplomatic strain, members of Netanyahu's governing coalition are actively promoting plans for new Israeli settlements in Gaza ahead of upcoming elections, a move that directly conflicts with the U.S. initiative. White House officials reportedly warned that Washington would be "very disappointed" if Israel stalls the initiative.

Implementation also faces structural hurdles over sequencing. Israeli military leaders insist troops will not withdraw without verified disarmament, whereas Hamas representatives state their compliance depends on an immediate initial pullback by Israeli forces.
