Hungary's Tisza Party to select presidential candidate on Saturday

Hungary's Tisza Party parliamentary group will vote on Saturday to select its candidate for President of the Republic ahead of Monday's deadline.
Hungary's opposition Tisza Party parliamentary group will convene on Saturday to select its candidate for the upcoming presidential election, parliamentary group leader Andrea Bujdosó announced through the state news agency MTI.
Lawmakers are expected to vote on a nominee chosen from three short-listed candidates before the official submission deadline on Monday at 10:00 AM. While Bujdosó declined to disclose the names of the prospective contenders, she noted that the selection process was structured to allow lawmakers a choice among several qualified individuals. Faction members are currently finalizing the presentation strategy to introduce their chosen candidate to the public.
