Hungary spent billions on foreign real estate and corporate subsidies since 2010

Public records reveal Hungary spent 40 billion HUF on foreign real estate and nearly 1.9 trillion HUF on corporate subsidies since 2010.
Public records detailing Hungarian state expenditure since 2010 show substantial spending on international real estate and corporate subsidies.
According to an analysis by HVG, Hungary spent roughly 40 billion forints on 26 official properties abroad, including acquisitions in Washington, Tehran, and Switzerland. The report noted that purchasing decisions frequently favored exclusive locations over practical utility.
Separately, Telex reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade allocated nearly 1,904 billion forints across 688 subsidy contracts between 2010 and 2026. Over 54 percent of these direct corporate subsidies were directed toward the battery and automotive manufacturing sectors, excluding additional tax concessions provided to foreign investors.
