Hungary reviews 4iG involvement in €500 million EU satellite project amid state audit

Hungary is auditing its state contracts with 4iG Group while reassessing the company's management role in a €500 million EU IRIS² satellite investment.
Hungary’s new administration is reviewing major state contracts held by technology conglomerate 4iG Group while proceeding with plans to invest €500 million in the European Union's IRIS² satellite infrastructure. Science and Technology Minister Zoltán Tanács confirmed the funding commitment, though officials are evaluating whether 4iG will retain its managing role in related public procurement.
The review follows a official government decree ordering a comprehensive audit of all ownership, financial, and contractual relations between the state and 4iG. A gag order remains active, barring ministry officials from commenting publicly on the matter. 4iG, whose leadership previously held ambassadorial status, reacted to the political developments by stating it remains a "partner" to the state.
