Hungarian Minister Dávid Vitézy announced the recovery of 2.27 billion forints from a Mészáros-linked fund as audits target legacy toll system deals involving IT entrepreneur Gábor Emőri.

Hungarian Transport and Investment Minister Dávid Vitézy announced that a private equity fund linked to businessman Lőrinc Mészáros has refunded 2.27 billion forints to the state. The reimbursement follows an ongoing government investigation into a 64.5 billion forint transaction negotiated during former minister János Lázár's tenure to purchase three electronic toll system companies.

Following the asset recovery, government scrutiny has expanded to legacy contracts involving IT entrepreneur Gábor Emőri. Emőri spent 12 years developing and operating core infrastructure for Hungary's national electronic toll network. Officials are currently auditing state procurement deals to determine whether additional public funds can be reclaimed from previous toll-related agreements.
