Hungary audits 4iG state contracts while keeping EU satellite ties

Hungary has ordered an audit of its ties with defense and tech firm 4iG while confirming its €500 million commitment to the EU's IRIS² satellite project.
The Hungarian government has initiated a comprehensive audit into all financial, contractual, and ownership ties with technology and defense group 4iG. According to a resolution published in the official gazette, public officials are subject to a strict gag order while the review is conducted.
Despite the inquiry, Science and Technology Minister Zoltán Tanács stated that Hungary remains committed to investing €500 million into the European Union's IRIS² satellite project. However, the government is re-evaluating whether 4iG will maintain its role as the lead contractor for domestic space and telecommunications programs. Responding to the decree, 4iG stated it considers itself a "partner" to the state while existing public agreements undergo review.
