France's Constitutional Council approved conditional assisted dying legislation while rejecting a proposed blanket social media ban for minors under 15.

France’s Constitutional Council has approved landmark legislation legalizing conditional assisted dying while issuing three interpretive reservations, notably securing conscience protections for private and religious healthcare facilities. The court emphasized that it would not substitute its own judgment for parliamentary intent on major societal reforms. In the same set of rulings, the judges also upheld emergency agricultural legislation.

However, the Council struck down the core provision of a separate bill attempting to ban social media access for minors under 15, ruling that a general prohibition disproportionately infringed upon constitutional rights. President Emmanuel Macron welcomed the validation of the end-of-life framework, praising what he described as an "exemplary democratic debate."
