Flydubai co-pilot who attacked captain made past calls for violence, report finds

Past social media activity by a Flydubai first officer who recently attacked the flight captain contains repeated calls for violence against women and hate speech targeting homosexuals, according to media reports.

An investigation into the pilot's online presence during his time at a university in the United Kingdom revealed messages endorsing severe penalties justified under Islamic law and content involving sexual degradation. The revelations follow an incident earlier in the week where the co-pilot assaulted the captain during an active flight. The findings have raised concerns regarding background screening processes for flight crew members.
