EU warns Russia over Leipzig drone plot as Moscow targets Ukrainian energy grid

The security warning comes amid escalating strikes in the region. Russian defense officials confirmed a renewed campaign targeting Ukraine's power grid, launching overnight drone attacks against Kyiv that injured a civilian. The bombardment followed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to the United Nations General Assembly, where he sharply criticized Russian leadership. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continued long-range strikes against Russian oil facilities, exacerbating domestic fuel supply issues in Russia.
