European officials heighten security following Danish sabotage warnings and progress in the Leipzig Airport plot investigation.

Security alerts are rising across Europe as Danish intelligence officials warn of potential Russian sabotage against industrial targets. The alert coincides with progress in the investigation into explosive devices found at Leipzig Airport, where German authorities identified two suspects linked to Moscow: a Russian citizen with a Latvian passport and a Belarusian national holding Russian papers. While German outlets reported the Belarusian suspect obtained an Italian Schengen visa, Italian security sources stated he never entered Italy.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen responded firmly to the threats, declaring that "we will not tolerate attacks on EU soil" and promising a coordinated reaction. Simultaneously, conflict dynamics persist on the frontlines as Russia launched targeted strikes against Ukraine’s power grid, while Ukrainian drone strikes against Russian refineries forced Moscow to import fuel.
