European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned against attacks on EU soil as Russia launched new strikes on Kyiv's energy grid and Ukraine hit Russian refineries.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned that the European Union "will not tolerate attacks" on its territory after German authorities identified two Moscow-linked suspects in connection with explosive drones discovered in Leipzig.

The diplomatic friction coincides with escalating military action in Eastern Europe. Russian forces launched renewed attacks against Ukraine's energy network, conducting overnight drone raids on Kyiv that damaged property and injured a civilian. The bombardment intensified following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to the United Nations General Assembly, where he described Vladimir Putin as "patient zero" of the conflict.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces expanded long-range aerial strikes targeting Russian oil refineries. The resulting damage to petroleum infrastructure has forced Moscow to import fuel from foreign suppliers to maintain domestic reserves.
