The European Union has imposed sanctions on Ali Chomaev, director of youth facilities in Russia's North Caucasus region. Brussels targeted Chomaev over his involvement in the "deportation and forcible transfer" of Ukrainian children to Russian-run centres for "ideological indoctrination and military education."
Chomaev oversees the Adel children's camp in Karachay-Cherkessia and the Solnechny Bereg education centre in Daghestan. The EU's latest restrictive measures targeted a total of 10 individuals and 17 entities linked to unlawful actions against Ukrainian youth during the ongoing conflict.
