Extensive drone strikes hit fuel supplies in Moscow and urban areas in Ukraine, as Kyiv prepares a defense leadership transition and weighs elections.

Extensive drone strikes continue across the Russia-Ukraine conflict, targeting infrastructure and frontline areas. Ukraine launched hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles across more than twenty Russian regions, including Moscow, with strikes on domestic refineries triggering gasoline shortages and fuel rationing in the Russian capital. Concurrently, Russian drone attacks on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia left civilians dead and wounded.

Diplomatic and political developments also unfolded alongside the air campaign. Moscow issued stern warnings to the United Kingdom over its continued military drone supplies to Kyiv. Domestically, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov advocated holding wartime elections to protect democratic continuity, while the parliament prepared to confirm Yevhenii Khmara as the new defense minister. In the Baltic region, NATO air policing intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle over Latvian airspace using Eurofighter jets.
