The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo approaches 4,000 cases, with health officials recording over 50 deaths in a single day.

The Ebola outbreak in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo continues to escalate, with confirmed cases reaching nearly 4,000 and daily mortality rising sharply. Recent data from health authorities indicates that the virus has now claimed over 1,800 lives across five provinces, maintaining a fatality rate of 45.3 percent.

In a single 24-hour period, officials recorded 99 new confirmed infections and 52 deaths, prompting calls from the World Health Organization for urgent international intervention. Despite contact tracing reaching 75.3 percent, medical organizations including Doctors Without Borders warn that containment efforts are struggling against the rapid transmission rate. Over 670 patients remain hospitalized or isolated, while nearly 780 individuals have recovered.
