Earthquakes in Italy and Japan, along with massive wildfires in Spain and France, have caused casualties and displaced hundreds of thousands.

Emergency services worldwide are addressing a series of major disasters. In Italy, a seismic swarm near Naples injured 26 people following more than 100 aftershocks, while rescuers in Messina search for at least seven missing individuals after a building collapsed following an explosion. In southwestern Japan, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture killed 13 people and forced over 9,000 into shelters. Emergency crews are attempting to reach people trapped inside a collapsed shopping center in Kashima. Simultaneously, severe wildfires across Spain and France have displaced over 300,000 residents, with flames extending into the Bordeaux region as temperatures rise.
