At least 95 people have died and hundreds remain missing, including foreign tourists, after flash floods devastated settlements along the Nepal-Tibet border.

At least 95 people have died following severe flash floods and landslides along the Himalayan border between Nepal and Tibet, according to local authorities. Initial casualty figures varied between nine and 31 dead before rising sharply as rescue efforts progressed.

Hundreds of individuals remain missing across affected valleys, including up to 341 foreign tourists from the United States, United Kingdom, India, and Malaysia. Officials reported that a seismic event likely triggered a major ice collapse, damming the Lhenda Khola river until it burst into surrounding settlements.

Nepalese military helicopters and emergency personnel are conducting search operations while attempting to navigate destroyed bridges and roads. Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah called for national solidarity following the disaster.
