Danube water flow in Romania approaches historic low amid August drop

Danube River flow rates entering Romania are projected to drop near historic 1985 lows in early August, falling three times below the multi-year average according to water authorities.
Water levels on the Danube River at the Romanian border are projected to decline sharply in early August, falling to nearly three times below the multi-year average. According to the National Administration "Apele Române" (ANAR), the discharge rate dropped to 1,650 cubic meters per second on Tuesday and is expected to reach approximately 1,600 cubic meters per second by the start of August.
Forecasts indicate a further decrease to 1,500 cubic meters per second by August 4. This trajectory approaches the record low recorded in 1985, when the entry flow into Romania dropped to 1,400 cubic meters per second. Water management authorities continue to monitor the downward trend across the river basin.
