Cassette tapes experience revival following vinyl sales surge

Cassette tapes are making a commercial comeback following the vinyl boom, with manufacturers launching new portable hardware in major retail outlets.
Retailers and audio manufacturers are capitalizing on physical media nostalgia as cassette tapes experience a market resurgence following the multi-million-dollar boom in vinyl records.
In high-end retail venues such as London’s Selfridges department store, modern cassette players are being showcased alongside contemporary consumer electronics. French company We Are Rewind recently introduced a limited-edition cassette player priced at £159 ($212), bundled with a cassette release of Elvis Presley’s 1957 Christmas album.
The trend reflects a growing demand for retro physical audio formats among consumers, prompting hardware brands to reintroduce portable cassette technology to global consumer markets.
