Bologna marks anniversary of 1980 station bombing following final trial verdicts

Bologna gathers to commemorate the 1980 station bombing following recent final rulings by Italy's highest court.
Bologna is preparing to commemorate the anniversary of the August 2, 1980 railway station bombing, gathering residents and victims' families in the city's main square and train station. The event follows the final conclusion of all legal proceedings related to the attack, after Italy's Supreme Court of Cassation recently upheld life sentences for Gilberto Cavallini and Paolo Bellini.
Despite the end of the court processes, participants continue to demand full truth and justice regarding the tragedy. This year marks the first official commemoration led by Paolo Lambertini, the newly appointed president of the victims' families association, who succeeded long-standing chief Paolo Bolognesi.
