A recount after Berlin's state election shifted a mandate to the AfD while highlighting contrasting voter trends among youth and migrant groups.

Following Berlin's state election, a vote recount in Spandau transferred a direct seat from the Christian Democratic Union to Alternative for Germany candidate Tommy Tabor, shrinking the state parliament by five seats.

The election also revealed distinct voter dynamics across the capital. Die Linke built a strong lead among younger electors, topping pre-election polling at 22 percent. Meanwhile, overall turnout among citizens with migrant backgrounds remained low in districts such as Neukölln. However, some young voters of Turkish descent gravitated toward the AfD, pointing to concerns over public order, economic stability, and migration policy.
