Armenia warns Russian trade limits could end Eurasian Economic Union

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan warned that unresolved Russian trade restrictions could mark the beginning of the end for the Eurasian Economic Union.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan warned that persistent Russian trade restrictions on Armenian exports could mark "the beginning of the end" for the Moscow-led Eurasian Economic Union. Speaking following recent talks with Russian officials, Pashinyan noted that while both sides achieved a "common understanding" on several bilateral issues, key commercial disruptions remain unresolved.
In response to the economic friction with Moscow, Yerevan is actively seeking alternative trade partners to diversify its economy. As part of this push, Armenia and Iran agreed to expand their existing gas-for-electricity swap arrangement, forming a dedicated working group to facilitate increased energy exchanges between the two nations.
