A 38-year-old armed man was arrested at Donald Trump's California golf course after being spotted filming security arrangements two days before a presidential visit.

California law enforcement officers arrested 38-year-old Jeanine John Taele near the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes two days prior to a planned fundraising appearance by US President Donald Trump.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, security staff spotted the suspect taking photos, recording video, and seemingly observing security preparations on the grounds. A search of Taele's vehicle yielded a loaded firearm alongside armor-piercing ammunition.

While the suspect was taken into custody ahead of the presidential event, authorities have not officially identified a motive for his actions.
