US President Donald Trump hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington for a three-day state visit, marking Xi's first official state visit to the United States in over a decade. In an unusual diplomatic gesture, Trump personally greeted the Chinese leader at the aircraft steps upon arrival.

During bilateral talks at the White House, the two leaders addressed major international security matters, including the conflict in Ukraine, instability in the Middle East, and security on the Korean Peninsula. The discussions followed prior appeals from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who asked Washington to encourage Beijing to leverage its influence over Moscow toward de-escalation.
