US indicts five alleged Russian agents over global murder and sabotage plots
US authorities have charged five alleged Russian intelligence operatives over plots targeting allies of Ukraine, while Denmark reports sabotage against its defense sector.
Federal prosecutors in the United States have unsealed charges against five alleged Russian intelligence agents accused of conducting a coordinated campaign of targeted killings and sabotage across North America and Europe. According to court filings, the operatives recruited international proxies to monitor and attack individuals and infrastructure connected to supporting Ukraine.
Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Russian state actors have carried out physical sabotage against Danish defense contractors supplying military hardware to Kyiv. Danish officials described the covert actions as an escalation in Moscow's hybrid tactics aimed at eroding Western assistance to Ukraine. All five suspects named in the American indictment remain at large.
