US indicts five alleged Russian agents over assassination and sabotage plots
US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian operatives over targeted plots in Europe and the US, while Danish intelligence warned of hybrid sabotage against defense firms.
US federal prosecutors in Manhattan have unsealed an indictment charging five alleged Russian intelligence operatives for orchestrating a campaign of targeted killings and sabotage across North America and Europe. According to law enforcement authorities, the network hired operatives globally to conduct surveillance and execute attacks against individuals supporting Ukraine, including a June 2024 incident in Prague. All five suspects remain at large.
Simultaneously, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service warned that Moscow has engaged in physical sabotage against Danish defense manufacturers producing military equipment for Kyiv. Danish officials framed the actions as a major escalation in Russia's ongoing hybrid warfare tactics across Western nations.
