The U.S. escorted millions of barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz overnight, triggering Iranian mine responses and U.S. strikes on Larak Island.

The United States has executed its largest crude oil transport operation through the Strait of Hormuz since the conflict began six months ago. Utilizing maritime, air, and space assets under cover of night, U.S. forces successfully escorted millions of barrels of oil through the strategic waterway.

In response, Iranian forces deployed rocket-launched sea mines, prompting U.S. strikes against targets on Larak Island. Tehran subsequently reiterated that the strait will remain closed until Washington fulfills several demands, including ending port blockades, lifting petroleum sanctions, unfreezing Iranian assets, and halting military operations. Prior to the conflict, approximately 20 million barrels of crude oil transited the strait daily.
