Ukraine reported tactical advances near Kupiansk and Lyman while repelling dozens of Russian assaults, as Moscow claimed gains near Sumy and denied Ukrainian progress in Zaporizhzhia.

Heavy fighting persists along the front lines in Ukraine, with the Ukrainian General Staff reporting 221 combat engagements in a single day. Russian offensive operations remain heavily concentrated in the Pokrovsk and South Slobozhan sectors, where Ukrainian forces reported repelling more than 30 assaults across multiple settlements.

Concurrently, positional shifts and conflicting claims continue in other sectors. Ukrainian troops made tactical gains on the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupiansk and advanced in the Lyman sector, where up to 200 square kilometers may return to Ukrainian control. Conversely, Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed to have captured several settlements near Sumy, while Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov publicly rejected reports of Ukrainian advances in the Zaporizhzhia region. Separate strikes were also reported targeting ammunition storage facilities in the Kyiv region.
