Ukrainian forces hold Pokrovsk line as tactical shifts continue in east

Ukrainian forces face over 220 daily engagements as intense fighting continues around Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, Lyman, and Sumy.
Ukrainian forces have faced intense pressure along eastern and southern sectors, with Ukraine’s General Staff recording over 220 daily combat engagements. Heavy fighting remains concentrated on the Pokrovsk axis, where Ukrainian troops repelled more than 20 Russian assaults across multiple settlements, alongside repeated attacks in the South Slobozhan area.
Tactical updates indicate contrasting developments across the frontline. Ukrainian troops reportedly advanced along the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupiansk and near Lyman. Meanwhile, Russian defense officials claimed control over several settlements near Sumy, while Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov refuted reports of Ukrainian progress in the Zaporizhzhia region. Strikes were also reported targeting ammunition depots in the Kyiv region.
