Trump urges Zelensky and Putin to reach peace deal before winter

Following a recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Donald Trump urged both Kyiv and Moscow to negotiate a swift end to the conflict before winter sets in. Trump stated that he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone and expressed conviction that the Kremlin chief is seeking a resolution. According to Trump, both leaders must reach a mutual agreement to halt the hostilities.

Zelensky characterized his discussions with Trump as positive and productive, confirming a shared interest between Washington and Kyiv in concluding the war in the coming months. However, Ukrainian leadership maintains that any potential settlement must preserve Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity while halting Russian aggression.
