Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to reach agreement before winter

US President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine before winter. Following a phone conversation with Putin and a bilateral meeting with Zelensky, Trump stated his belief that Moscow is seeking a resolution, adding, "He wants a deal and, if Zelensky wants a deal, it would be great."

Zelensky described his discussions with Trump as positive and productive, affirming that both the United States and Ukraine share the goal of stopping Russian aggression in the coming months. While Trump indicated alignment with Zelensky on several issues, he emphasized the need for both sides to negotiate terms directly to conclude the conflict.
