Rescue operations continue along the Nepal-Tibet border following catastrophic flash floods caused by a glacial collapse, with over 1,500 people missing.

Rescue teams in the Himalayan border region between Nepal and Tibet are continuing search operations following catastrophic flash floods caused by a glacial collapse. Nepali authorities confirmed the domestic death toll has reached 469, while Chinese officials report three fatalities in Tibet.

Over 1,500 people remain unaccounted for, including hundreds of foreign nationals from countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and India. The surging floodwaters washed away entire settlements, bridges, hydroelectric facilities, and key roadways, severing communications with remote mountain districts.

Emergency operations face significant delays due to ongoing mudslides and secondary flooding risks. Authorities warn that casualty figures could increase as emergency personnel gain access to previously isolated communities.
