Russian drones struck Kyiv following Zelensky's UN address, while the EU issued a stern warning to Moscow after German police uncovered an explosive drone plot in Leipzig.

Tensions escalated overnight following a fresh wave of Russian drone strikes on Kyiv that injured at least one resident and damaged infrastructure. The bombardment followed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address at the United Nations General Assembly. Moscow's defense officials indicated a renewed strategy aimed at dismantling Ukraine's energy network ahead of winter, while Ukrainian long-range strikes against Russian oil facilities continue to cause fuel shortages inside Russia.

Concurrently, European security officials raised alarms after German police in Leipzig identified two suspects linked to Moscow in a plot involving explosive drones. Addressing the incident, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a direct warning, stating, "we do not tolerate attacks on EU soil, ready to respond."
