Russian forces targeted Kyiv and Ukraine's energy grid, while the EU warned against foreign threats following a foiled drone plot in Germany.

Russian forces have launched fresh drone attacks against Kyiv, injuring at least one person, as Moscow initiates a targeted campaign to disrupt Ukraine's energy grid. The strikes follow Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address at the United Nations General Assembly, where he strongly criticized Russian leadership. Simultaneously, Ukrainian long-range strikes on Russian oil infrastructure have constrained Moscow's domestic fuel supplies, prompting external petrol purchases.

In Europe, security concerns escalated after German authorities identified two suspects tied to Moscow regarding an explosive drone plot in Leipzig. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a firm warning, asserting that the European Union "will not tolerate attacks on EU soil" and stands prepared to react to foreign threats.
